Once your account is funded, you’re ready to trade.
Getting started
1. Choose a market
Go to Markets and select a prediction you want to participate in.
2. Select an outcome
Choose the outcome you believe will happen. The displayed price reflects the market’s current probability estimate.
3. Enter an amount
Enter the amount you want to allocate to your prediction.
4. Buy
Review the details and confirm your prediction. Your position will appear in your Portfolio, where you can track it until the market resolves.
Selling a position
If the market is still open, you can sell all or a part of your position before it resolves.
Claiming winnings
Once a market resolves, you can claim $1 per share held in the winning outcome. You’ll find your claimable positions at the top of your Portfolio.
How it works
Participants are effectively buying and selling outcome shares at the current market price.
Prices range between $0 and $1. When the market resolves:
- Each winning share settles at $1.
- Every share of losing outcomes is worth $0.
You can buy and sell shares at any time while a market is open. Once a market is closed, trading is stopped until resolution. Winnings can be claimed after a market is resolved.
Market Rules
Each market on Myriad includes a Rules section explaining exactly how the outcome will be determined.
The Rules section is the authoritative reference for how a market resolves.
Before participating in a market, make sure you read the rules.
Market rules typically specify:
- Market dates: when trading closes and when the event is observed
- Resolution criteria: what must happen for each outcome to win
- Resolution source: the data source used to determine the result
- Cancellation conditions: situations where the market may be canceled
Market resolution
Resolution is managed by the Myriad team based on the Market Rules.
Markets are typically resolved within a few minutes of their expiration or within up to 48 hours depending on the nature and rules of the Market.
Canceled/Voided markets
If a market is canceled/voided, you can claim your stake at the market value of your open position at the time of cancellation.
This may result in a profit or a loss depending on the price of your outstanding shares at that time.
Make sure you read and understand the rules of each market before participating.
Special markets
In-Play markets
In-Play markets are open while the event is occurring. They may close after the event is scheduled to finish, or sometime during the event.
Order book markets are always in-play.
HIT markets
HIT markets don’t have an expiration date — they will be resolved when one of the outcomes is observed.
Spotlight markets
Spotlight markets are featured markets. They have 0% or 0.2% trading fees.
Perpetual Sentiment Markets
What are they?
Belief gets a price Polling was built to measure what people think, but it mostly captures what people say they think. Belief filtered through bias, identity, and bipartisan rituals just becomes noise. Opinions are cheap when they cost nothing to express. Markets fix that.Myriad’s Perpetual Sentiment Markets replace surveys with price discovery. Instead of ticking a box, participants buy or sell positions that represent their beliefs, such as Fear vs Greed, Politician Approval vs Disapproval etc.. staking value in belief. The result is an always-on, self-correcting signal of collective sentiment.
How do they work?
- They are perpetual, i.e. they never resolve.
- They have 0% trading fees, so you can freely express your opinion through trading.
Market types
Myriad supports two trading models on different markets. Order Book and Automated Market Markets (AMM).
The overall principles are the same for both models, but some key details in how liquidity is provided and prices are established change.
